related to the stone cutting skill
currently it does not increase the gold value of objects, it gives duration and power.
which is meaningless. repairing an item should do that.
i've been playing RPG games longer than most of you have been alive. 25 years. yeah im old, whatever, get over it
gems are usually found in the following increments. (yes i can give more varied figures, but these are averages and commonly used for speed of play)
10 gp = 40%
50 gp = 25%
100 gp = 15%
500 gp = 10%
1000 gp = 5%
5000 gp = 3%
Double Base value as Above = 1%
Half Base Value as Above = 1%
over the years i've seen a gem worth so little you wouldnt actually get anything for selling it.
from a gem worth over 10 million gold ( who woulda thought u could roll 100 on percentile dice 20 times in a row)
those are rare occurances though
as far as the "gem-cutting" most game systems do it like this
based on your skill and luck(dice roll)
success gives 110-200% to value
Failure gives 0% -90% to value (0% being destroyed)
just my thoughts and opinions
